In 2005, the Points of light Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging more people in volunteer service to help solve serious social problems, named Thomas Kinkade their Ambassador of Light. During the Ambassador of Light Tour from 2005-2006, Thom visited cities nationwide to raise awareness and money for the Points of Light Foundation and the Volunteer Center National Network.
